NICK REID
Production Journalist
ABOUT ME
Welcome to my digital CV.
I am a production journalist at ITV Central.
I also have nine years of journalism experience working on newspapers across the Midlands.
During that time, I completed four years working as a senior reporter and digital content editor at the Derby Telegraph/Derbyshire Live.
Prior to this, I worked as a senior reporter at the Tamworth Herald for two-and-a-half years where I also contributed to the Birmingham Mail and Coventry Telegraph websites, as well as the other titles within the CIN group.
Before that, I began my career at the Coalville, Ashby and Swadlincote Times where I spent nearly two-and-a-half years working across all three titles in the Trident Midlands Newspapers group.
As a reporter I have covered everything from high-profile court cases, inquests, council meetings, major breaking news, as well as writing in-depth features and backgrounders.
I have also done freelance sport reporting, writing for the Football League Paper, the Non-League Paper and the Sunday Mercury.
Blood-stained aftermath
In June 2020, I was nominated for Scoop of the Year at the Regional Press Awards while working at the Derby Telegraph/Derbyshire Live.
The story concerned a woman who was savagely attacked by her ex-partner - but rescued by her daughter.
